AGGS课程的目标是;

关键阶段三

All students are taught in mixed ability groups throughout key stage three. 遵循一个共同的课程, 由英语组成, 数学, 科学, 地理位置, 历史, 艺术, 戏剧, 跳舞, 音乐, PE, 设计技术, 计算, 宗教研究, 公民身份和两个法语MFL科目, 德语和西班牙语.

九年级, students are taught in the separate disciplines of biology, 化学和物理的科学课.

关键阶段四

Our 关键阶段4 课程 is broad so that students can experience a range of opportunities across the curriculum; balanced because it is unwise for students to narrow down their options before the age of 16; relevant to students’ individual needs and to the demands of a rapidly-changing world; and personalised so that the level and type of work are suited to the ability and learning style of each individual student. English language, English literature and 数学 are compulsory for all students. We are committed to an EBacc curriculum and therefore students are also asked to study either 地理位置 or 历史, at least one MFL subject and either separate or trilogy award 科学. All of the other subjects studied at 关键阶段三 are available options for students to pursue at GCSE, as well as new choices such as business and food preparation & 营养.

关键阶段五

Our 关键阶段三 and Four principles continue into the 六年级 enabling clear lines of progression. The curriculum is built around subjects that go well together (students study three, 有4个A级的范围). 这包括一系列的促进 & specialist subjects alongside Extended Project and Core Mathematics. We aim to give students a sense of control over their 六年级 programme enabling a broad education offering wide choice and essential skills for a rapidly-changing world.

These are important in every year and aim to encourage personal decision-making skills, confidence to express ideas and an awareness of the individual’s responsibility to the community. Pupils/students are also encouraged to review their progress, to assess their skills and qualities and to record a wide range of achievements.

性教育

性教育 is presented within a moral framework, 它不仅提供信息, 但也鼓励负责任的行为. Physiological aspects are included in Science and Biology lessons throughout the school and in PSHE lessons and within tutor groups there is discussion of personal relationships. Pupils may be withdrawn from the topics which are not required by the National 课程. 父母/护理人员 are welcome to discuss the programme and the materials used with staff at the school.

宗教教育

有常规的, timetabled Religious Studies lessons for Years 7 to 9 and Religious Studies is an offered option at both GCSE and A Level. Lessons are non-denominational and parents/carers who wish to see the schemes of work or discuss any concerns they may have are invited to contact the school. Pupils may be withdrawn from lessons if parents/carers request it.

公民身份

公民身份 has a high priority within the school curriculum. There is a flourishing elected 学校理事会 and there are many opportunities for pupils to contribute to the school community through pupil-led groups such as the Eco-School Committee, Amnesty International and UR-Voice (political discussion and debate group). 公民身份 is also offered as a full GCSE course at 关键阶段4.

浓缩

Equally important to our taught curriculum is the portfolio of experiences to enable personal and 社会 development, develop citizenship and community work and present challenge.

这些包括, 关键阶段5的工作经验, 旅行, a wide range of well attended extra-curricular clubs, 包括D, 筹款活动, 支持他人, mentoring and representing the school across a range of activities. All have the aim of helping our student to develop their identity so they are ready and equipped to fully engage with life beyond school.

At Key Stages 4 and 5 a programme of enrichment is offered within the curriculum time and includes PE, 学习和复习技能, 公民身份和六年级的EPQ, 核心数学和志愿者项目 & 工作经验.
